The Fixture Secretary Reports"Driving up the M11, the grey but dry conditions were replaced by grey, damp & mizzle once we got past Stanstead. If anything visibility became worse the closer we got to the ground as the mizzle was repplaced by drizzle. Spirits were high at the ground as Australia collapsed & the Captains agreed that even if the rain stopped later there wsa sun predicted & the outfield wouldn't dry in time to produce a game. So off we went to the Chestnut Tree to watch the test until bad light intervened & then it was back to London. Seeing a couple of games taking place just before Junction 2 was of no compensation"
