Baglivi back in style
Pacific v Weston Colville at Away
Sat 15 Sep 2001 at 1pm
Won by 4 wkts
Friendly fixture

Following a minutes silence, events further afield cast a subdued shadow over proceedings. WC's innings - interrupted by a heavy shower which slowed the outfield even more & their total was never going to be straightforward to overhaul. John Baglivi, in his 1st appearance for a month found good rhythm almost immediately & posed the biggest threat to WC's attempts at an imposing total. He was ably supported by Allan Roberts & Jim Davies. Ashley Garrod who top scored with 48 batting & picked up 4 wickets from his quick medium slingy action was pivotal to WC's batting.

The 18 year old who has already turned down Leicestershire & Northamptonshire is a true prospect indeed & his dismissal came as a surprise as a target total was being set. P's 2nd wicket stand between Steve Lay & Dougal DeKeller looked a solid foundation but Garrod ate away at the top order with only Jim Davies proving defiant. A match winning partnership with, the soon to be departing to Exeter Tim Mileham, saw the target within reach & Tim, batting as assuredly as he often promises saw the target surpassed in the gloom with an all run 4, called by the evergreen Frank Baglivi.
