Veteran seamer Darryl Roberts rose late and arrived a remarkable hour and a quarter after the scheduled start time – but made a dramatic late contribution with 4 wickets for 17 runs as Black Rose were skittled for 107 all out. It was the experienced seamers second 4-wicket haul in as many weeks - and included the vital scalp of Andre Mishra - brilliantly caught in the deep by a tumbling Kurt Rademaker.
Despite a shaky start when 3 early wickets fell – returning skipper Steve Lay anchored the innings with an unbeaten 30 – and there were vital contributions from burly Aussie Kurt Rademaker (30) and even burlier West Indian Lucius Faisal (24). Pacific eventually claimed a fairly comfortable 4 wicket win – despite a spirited effort in the field from Black Rose.
Black Rose of Highgate 107 all out from 34.3 over (Darryl Roberts 4-17)
Pacific 108 for 6 (Steve Lay 30*, Kurt Rademaker 30, Lucius Faisal 24)
MOM – Kurt Rademaker – wickets, runs, a direct hit run out and a vital running catch in the deep for the Aussie all-rounder.
Packing the Kit – Darryl Roberts – despite his 4 wickets there’s no escape for the man arriving well over an hour late!
XI :- Steve Lay*, Rob Bastin+, Jim Davies, Lucius Faisal, Kurt Rademaker, Darryl Roberts, Rob Allum, Adrian Duthie, Brad Davis, Kieran Mullins & Oli Haill.
