After a long trip down to leafy Locksbottom, after a detour that took some of us all too close to the post Brexit lorry Park in Kent, PCC found ourselves put into bat on a rather green tinged pitch. After a reasonably steady start from Mutz S and Chasseaud, wickets started to fall in clumps and a grim day seemed all too likely. However a crafty counter attack from Riz brought PCC back into the match with able support from Hishaam. A very fun father- son double act. This threatened to push PCC up to 150+ which would have been a decent score on that track. Alas, it was not to be with Riz departing for 60 and the tail not adding enough to support this effort.
There was plenty of fire from Howes and Hishaam and the latter would pick up the opening scalp. Enter Epstein and he would pick up two quick scalps leaving Locksbottom 35-3. Hope springed eternal. However it was as good as it got. Although Korgaonkar would pick up a couple of wickets the pressure valve was released with too many loose deliveries and increasing errors in the field with an unhealthy extras count aiding the chase. Locksbottom got there 5 wickets down with around 8 overs left. An ultimately disappointing effort despite moments of promise.....
