Pacific lost the toss and were inserted by Camel at Springfield Park on the hottest day of the year so far. Contributions with the bat by Paul Rajkumar (22), Chris Duncan (44), Mutz Siddiqui (43) and James McGinnigle (26) helped Pacific to 204 for 8 in their 40 overs. Wickets were taken by Kit (1-29), Sam (1-32), Rahman (2-38), Max (1-24) and Steve (2-31).

In reply, only three Camel batsmen reached double figures – Matt (21), Chris (29) and Tom (32) – as Pacific's pacemen exploited the wicket's variable bounce. Extras were second top scorer with 31, including 21 wides as anything down the leg side was signalled, and Camel were bowled out for 128 in 26 overs. Wickets were shared by Howes (4-40), Soden (4-35) and McGinnigle (2-15). The champagne moment of the match had come when Pacific's social secretary Ben Burnham, fielding at mid on, lost a high ball in the sun and it bounced 50 yards off his head to go over the boundary for four. Thankfully he was fine and was seen at the Oval the following day enjoying watching Bangladesh beat South Africa in the World Cup with the rest of the Burnham clan.
