On a relatively damp evening PCC win the toss and bat against the Royal Strikers, a team whose players all hailed from Mumbai. Ayre and Hargreaves open up as the team assembled and departed after brief stays at the crease. This brought Rajku and Mutz to the crease with the former showing his old lustre with a number of strikes out of the top drawer. Mutz anchored the innings and a cameo from Sam Farnham see PCC to 133 from 12 overs.
This was a formidable looking score that looked decisive when Ben Snodin took a couple of wickets in his first over. Unfortunately this would be something of a high point as all bowlers struggled inordinately with the wet ball and their own gremlins. By the end of the game PCC would leak 30 wides and this saw Strikers home in the last over. Promising batting, less promising bowling.
