Pacific bounce back with a win almost as emphatic as the previous Sunday¹s
defeat.
C : 106-10. Rajen 33. D Roberts 17-6-33-3. M Alexander 12.1-1-29-3.
P : 107-1. J Baglivi 53* D Murray 44* Sheegogh 6-2-17-1
It was a comprehensive win with 18.2 overs to spare against the
Middlesex Ibex League finalists; thereby going one further than Washington
had recently.
On a green seamer friendly pitch, Nigel Wilkinson happily inserted the oppo
with the toss having been won. He welcomed back several key players & this
helped contribute to a spirited & disciplined performance, in particular
from the 4 seamers. In picking up 3 wickets, Darryl Roberts is finally
getting the rewards of good bowling throughout the season. Mike Alexander
bowled his best spell also picking up 3. Calthorpe Captain, Rajen was off a
higher class as he he top scored for his side but did struggle against the
lateral moving ball. Eventually going to a Roberts delivery coming off the
bat handle for a comfortable catch to Frank Baglivi. The effort in the field
was also good illustrated by a superb 2 handed catch at 2nd slip by Nigel
himself to dismiss Tanner.
The batters coped altogether better than their counterparts but the bowling
was not the same calibre. John Baglivi notched up an unbeaten 1/2 century to
go with his 2 wickets & David Murray would surely have completed ho=is had
the target not been any greater.
