A wet and then sunny day at Wray Crescent proved cricket is possible in mid-October. The President's XI made 231 thanks to Thornton's 126. Satish and Nuggsy bowled well without much reward and Toby did very well to garner three wickets at the height of the rain. Justin's diving one-handed catch at mid on was the fielding moment of the year (but only for two hours). The Pacific reply was built around a Webbo 108* but ultimately fell just short. Riz's power was expected to boost Pacific's batting but his innings was cut short by Paul's incredible blind flick through his legs (American football snap style) to execute a direct hit from ten yards away from the area of mid on (fielding off his own bowling). The large crowd (15?) were soggy but happy at the end.
Thanks again to Peter Hollman for umpiring, to Christopher Clayton for scoring, and to Sajid for organising the Subway tea.
