A day of patchy weather saw Pacific overcome a middle order hiccup to win convincingly. News that this was to be a timed game met with the usual grumbling. Pacific won the toss and opted to bat. Croft anchored the innings whilst Pacific struggled against the swinging ball. Tempany thumped away but was undone by a change of ball after he smashed the old one over the mid on fence. Saif was his usual stylish self making 35 but at 127/6 the innings looked in trouble. Rees and Korgaonkar bailed the team out.
Chigwell's ten never looked likely to trouble the target. Rees bowled an immaculate line up the hill - seven maidens was some achievement. Gleadow wirred through the overs at the top end for four wickets. Nick Allum (Rob's brother) held up the Pacific charge and it looked like the weather closing in might foil us. However, just as the rain began Webley bowled Allum and Gough in the same over with inswingers.
