The Captain's Log. "North Middlesex won the toss and elected to bat. Being only 5 players for the first 6 overs, until Sammy Purcell managed to make up the numbers to give Pacific a full quota, proved to be a tough task when the gaps in the field are so huge in indoor cricket anyway. However, Pacific fielded well and held onto their catches, with some decent bowling given the number of fielders, and the best figures going to James Gleadow with 1-22 off 2. The innings coming to an end by a great slower ball by John Baglivi being hit to Conrad Chandler at short mid-off. However, it was all in vain as North Middlesex posted a mammoth 132.

So, 133 to get. No problem if you have Kluesner and Kemp in your side, alas Pacific didn’t. Chris Atkins getting run out early on for 4, enabled Conrad Chandler hitting 30 (smashing a 6 and 2x 4’s on his way) and Steve Lay (a solid 21) to put the foundations down for a Herculean effort. However, Hercules stayed at home and midway through Pacific were needing 19 an over, although giving a decent chase, 81 was the most Pacific could muster."
