Afterwards Nth Middx Chairman Mark Pittman said "Is that the strongest XI you can put out because if it is we'll have to consider the fixture before next year". Shame really as at the 20 over mark N Middx were 76-2, the Jameses Smith & Gleadow had bowled very well as had Shayne Rees.
The ground fielding lead by James Gleadow (again) & Rob Bastin had been superb & featured a splendid single stump 25 yard throw & hit from James Smith to dismiss a casual Sam Shepherd; but a change of bowling, an excelleration in the run rate as the wickets in hand told & an unforeseen rise of inconsistent fielding & the game changed.
In reply, Ben Gibson was caught at gully - the 1st catch of the match & thereafter wickets continued to fall at regular interludes.
Partnerships win or save games & our largest was 26 for the 2nd wicket which summarises the batting plight. Maybe a stronger team is required in 2008 or if not, a greater level of batting commitment.
XI:- Rob Bastin, Ben Gibson, James Gleadow, Matt Holliday, Peter Hollman, Lahri Mohamed, Shayne Rees, James Smith, Jon Webley* Steve Emmins & Stan McLeod. 12th Lucius Faisal,
