Sambrook is Southgate Hero
Pacific v Southgate at Middx Ckt Academy
Sun 13 Nov 2005 at 3.20pm
Lost 40 runs
Winter 6-a-side fixture

Jeremey Sambrook of Southgate left his mark on this game when he followed up an unbeaten 46 with 2 wickets for 16 from his part time leg spin.

The Pacific side who were mostly new to this format, fielded & bowled reasonably well & lead by stalwart John Baglivi, who picked up 2 wickets, restricted Southgate to a total Southgate themselves did not think was enough.

However, batting fraility & a useful bowling line up meant Pacific were up against from fairly early on despite the occasional bludgeon & finess from Conrad Chandler who remained unbeaten with a top score of 17.

Afterwards, Pacific captain Peter Hollman said " I suspected a steep learning curve for most of the side - this is so different from outdoors & the teams in this competition are top Middlesex League quality. Our best chance may have gone when the lights failed & the game was put back by 30 minutes which as it turned out meant Southgate's 3 missing players arrived with time to replace their dismissed colleagues. "

VI:- John Baglivi*, Charlie Davids+, Peter Hollman, Sammy Purcell, Conrad Chandler & Adam Long.
