Consultation has concluded
Alongside the plans for the new Community Park Building, Islington Council is committed to improving the wider park and landscaping at Wray Crescent. We are committed to replace every tree we remove with four new trees, either in the area or near the park.
The project will be funded using Community Infrastructure Levy(External link) (CIL) funding, allocated by Tollington ward councillors(External link).
Next steps
- Thank you to everyone who took part in our survey. The results of the survey have been summarised in our new survey report.
- We are now developing the design proposals and plan to post them on this page in December 2025.
- Construction estimated to be in Spring 2026.
- Please check this page for further updates.
UPDATE the site will be closed from July 2025.
The build is likely to take 8 months so it should be fine for next season.
23/2/24 I can confirm that the planning application has now been submitted. Please see attached the latest drawings and images. Once the planning team has validated the application, it will appear on Islington Council’s website (the reference is P2024/0369) and the statutory consultation period will begin. Any further comments can be communicated via the planning portal. The application includes a draft management plan but this will be finalised at a later date. We are excited to progress with this project and our current proposed timeline is as follows:
· February 2024 Submit Planning Application
· Spring 2024 Go out to Tender
· Autumn 2024 Start on Site
· Spring 2025 Completion
