It will be of interest to everyone in the Club who played with James during their time that we have renewed the Memorial game for Saturday 1st August 2026. It was noted that our side contained few players who knew him so next year we're going to make a concerted effort to put out an XI who did & honour his memory & contribution to both clubs as well as he did. For those who don't know, he died prematurely & when he knew his condition was terminal he cashed in his life insurance & went to Middlesex offices in Finchley where he left £17000 in cash for them to install the Non Turf Pitch we currently use at Wray Crescent. What a man. What a legend. I hope this doesn't disperse interest & availability from current members but do please contact me if you did play with him or indeed against him & you want to play this match.
