On what turned out to be a glorious early spring afternoon, the Pacificos captain Jas offered the chance of an enjoyable game, and instructions to the team at the potentiality of keeping his stellar 100% winning streak going. Winning the toss, we strolled out with intent and optimism at what this team could produce, bowling first.

The first 5 overs started slowly for Pacific - leaking runs as the bowlers looked to find the right line and length, of which both were found at the latter end of the first 10 overs, reeling the openers back in with some play-and-misses to draw some doubt into their strokeplay.

First change Manav struck in his first over. After being slapped for 6 off the previous ball, great caught & bowled to break what was looking to be a threatening partnership. Another partnership ensued for Windermere, until Noor came on and had a brilliant first spell for Pacific, taking 2 quick wickets, creating a genuine chance of keeping the run rate down. This unfortunately wasn't to be, as a lively few overs from Jack Mendel created numerous squandered chances, including one where maybe 3/4 chances came in a single over, including a chance to Rahul who dropped a sitter, apparently citing his 'tache wax as the reason for the spill. It may be one of the oldest clichés in cricket, but 'catches win matches' ultimately leading to Windermere finishing their alloted 40 overs on 299-6, propped up from their opening batsman who was the attacking mainstay for Windermere, keeping the run rate up at a decent clip and only left the field after retiring close to the end of the innings in the 140's. 

In response to the large target, Pacific openers Sam and Tom got things off to a steady start, picking gaps and testing fielders arms by taking quick singles and slotting bad balls away for boundaries led the brooding crowd feeling more optimistic about being able to chase down the 300, with Sam creaming a cut shot to the point folder that would've whistled away for 4 had it been a foot either side.

Looking to keep the scoreboard ticking over, Luke joined Tom at the crease and they kept rotating the strike, with Tom hitting a couple of swept 6s, and Luke in turn looked comfortable in the middle hitting some great shots through the offside as they built a hefty partnership. This was curtailed shortly after the drinks break as Tom looked to go over the top, only to find the mid on fielder. Luke going shortly after his quick 50, being bowled for 68.

This brought in Jas, who looked to steady the ship and get some bat on ball, directing with more good running as wickets fell around him, bringing Rahul to the crease who looked comfortable at the crease, again negotiating the strike with the tailenders and capped it off with a lovely six over long mid on. All in all, Pacific were bowled out for 214 and into the local boozer to enjoy a few post match drinks.
