Matt Holliday in his maiden match as captain had Paul Attwood, in his first
full season, to thank for his innings of 60 - more than double any other
batter in the match could achieve.
P: 153-9. P Attwood 60. Russell 8-0-34-4
N: 148-9. M Gilham 23*. N Wright 8-0-30-3
Although dropped having completed his
maiden 50, his wicket was sacrificed by the Captain in the scramble for
quick runs at the end of the innings. Russell picked up the best bowling
analysis with 4 wickets from his gentle off breaks.
A cautious start in reply due in the main to a slow pitch with the ball
often coming on slow & low, saw Nuxley continue to be pegged back by the
fall of regular wickets but the runs did not dry up either. This until the
final over bowled by Darryl Roberts. 1 wicket was needed or 6 runs for
Nuxley. Darryl bowled a maiden ! to finish with 2 -18 from a ten over spell
complementing Neil Wright¹s earlier spell of 3-30.
