Pacific won the toss and elected to bat on a scorching hot day in the hope that Washington would wilt. There was no such luck as it turned out to be Pacific who ended up feeling the heat. Washington bowled and fielded exceptionally well - so well in fact that it took the previous Sunday's centurion Mullens about 30 balls to get off the mark. Stockton was the only batsman to really shine until a leading edge looped up to point. He had been ably assisted by Siddiqui who was unlucky to be run out yet again, the victim of a bad call and a direct hit.
We then bowled well and Timbadia had them in early trouble with three wickets taken by his hooping deliveries before the ball lost its shine on the rock hard pitch and Washington went on to win by five wickets.
Credit to Washington for a fantastic bowling performance from them.
