Despite being favourites the Washington Captain, David Walker inserted the opposition & his nicely balanced attack of 2 seamers 2 spinners & 2 swing bowlers exploited another poorly prepared pitch.

W: 139-5 M Cragoe 33. P Hollman 6-0-21-2
The batting was difficult as the ball failed to come on & often stayed so low that bounce became roll. Spinners Tapper & Gurney, however, with flight, did get good purchase but thanks to sloppy fielding & good counter attacking in particular from Jones & Davies, & later Darryl Roberts (24), P reached a modest yet still challenging target.
In contrast, Pacific were superb in the field with the exception of Gurney dropped by an out of sorts Jonathan Campbell at deep backward when it was too late to matter. Matthew Cragoe lead from the front & his innings was the platform from which W were able to avoid defeat. The slow run rate was picked up nicely as the overs ran out by the counterattacking of Gurney & Tapper (again) as they saw their side home with 2 overs remaining.
