A late start on a temperate though overcast day, saw Bohemians bat first
after winning the toss.
B : 132-5. Cie Malde 47. N Wilkinson 4-0-19-3.
P : 133-8. P Stapleford 38. Kinlock 11.2-1-31-4.
Both opening quicks , John Baglivi & Darryl Roberts
started well, considering in particular that this was their first cricket in
nearly a month, with 2 maidens each. From 0-1, Bohemians recovered to 76-2,
in particular Cie Malde (47) batting well. Captain, Nigel Wilkinson bringing
himself, on as the 6th bowler then took 3 -19 off 3 overs with his accurate
swing, as Bohemians looked to accelerate. - Thereby being the most
successful bowler.
Solid batting in reply, by openers John Baglivi (13) & Jonathan Hardisty
(19) & David Murray (19) set the stage for "lost hero" Paul Stapleford -
the North London University student we had been trying to track down last
year to award him his trophy for his century last season. Paul played the
conditions superbly, finding the gaps & running well with his batting
partner & flat mate , Chris Moger (23). That is until he was run out on 38
with still 3 runs needed. Unbelievably, Pacific lost 4 wickets, including 3
with the scores level before Ian Lay saw Pacific home with 9 balls to spare.
