The call came about 10.30am giving due consideration to the length of journey time. North Kent had seen 2 hours of rain & more was predicted. The Hartley groundsman was in no mood to see his early season pitches damaged & rightly so as the rain & drizzle certainly did not recede until tea time.
First game of the season on a grass wicket. Lucky then that this is the "flattest track in Kent".
