On a warm peaceful Summer's evening, Steve Emmins could have chosen to lie back with a novel & a Pimms - indeed due to injury he was unable to bat or bowl - but instead the Captain's gameplan followed the script almost verbatim.

Winning the toss, he chose to bat 1st. A quality laden Braden Grigg with 50 not out off 17 balls & David Murray returning from injury himself & finding his touch of quality, with 51 not out set up the foundation of an emminently defendable total of 156. A supporting cast of Jon Hardisty & newly promoted to opener, Martin Cowling played their part too. This despite, useful accurate bowling by David Monahan & Iain Heathey - although it was Bob who picked up a wicket & a catch who impressed in the field backed up by the agility of Patrick & Alan.

In the 2nd innings the light had lessened & the cloud cover & humidity was perfect for swing bowling which Hollman capitalised on picking up both openers cheaply. Bob was really the only resistance as the wickets were spread around the 5 bowlers used - Murray sealing things with a wicket from his 2nd ball thereby bolwing out the Rose with 10 balls to spare & still 60 runs in arrears. Even the mosquito that flew into Matt Holliday's ear -thereby holding up play - couldn't survive.
