Fulmer 166 all out. Pacific 56 all out. Fulmer win by 110 runs.
A wonderful setting to nearby Pinewood film studios on a gloriously hot English summer's day - perfect for a Pimms & a lazy snooze. Hence fielding first encapsulated 5 dropped catches & frequent misfields as Fulmer edged closer to a defendable total on this 2 paced 3 bounce level pitch.
In fairness, Tom Brown bowled steady without luck, & Marcel Boonaert , Rob Bastin & Allan Roberts did bowl well & picked up the wickets between them & Captain Steve Lay judged a wonderful running catch to end the innings - but the batting was wholly woeful.
Poor judgement & poor shot selection left Pacific reeling with only Marcel Boonaert (23) bridging the gap between humiliation & respectabilty. Ducks for Hollman, Jon Brown & a 2nd golden for Bastin. 1-2 then 2 more quick wickets of Rees & Jon Brown left Pacific on 6-4 . At 29-8 it could have been even worse as the batters struggled to come to terms with the pitch & the opening bowlers Paddon & Carroll who picked up 4 wickets apiece. The return of the honour will have to wait another year as Black August continues.
XI: Rob Bastin, Steve Lay*, Shayne Rees, Allan Roberts, Ian Lay, Tom Brown, Jon Brown, Matt Holliday+, Pete Hollman, Marcel Boonaert & Daniel Randall
