Camel Lights: 115 for 5 (16 overs)
Pacific: 117 for 3 (14.1 overs)
Max Mortiboys and Navyjot Devasher both bowled exceptional opening spells, with Camel Lights struggling to lay bat on ball. Nav took a blinding return catch, prompting this correspondent to wonder whether he only takes them off his own bowling. On at first change were Greg Ayre and Tom Gane (skippering) who continued to apply pressure as we restricted Lights to 116 for 5, approvingly watched by the Pacific fan club of Aroon Korgoankar (who would then umpire our innings) and Colin Pollard.
Nav: 4 overs, 1 for 18
Max: 4 overs, 0 for 24
Greg: 4 overs, 3 for 35
Tom: 4 overs, 1 for 41
Seb Maltz and Kaleem Luthra, who had kept wicket very well, opened the batting for us. Seb batted with authority for his 14 before being caught at long off. John Deighan, in at No 3, top-edged a four over the keeper before being bowled by the barefooted and vocal Richard Hagan. Kaleem fell not long afterwards for about 38, leaving it to Toby Chasseaud (34 not out) and Nav (12 not out) to see us home. Nav played a couple of glorious cover drives before Toby hit the winning runs with an ugly four hoicked through square leg.
And so we won comfortably with 11 balls to spare.
