Our penultimate Sunday game of the season was marred by the twin evils of a footballer-affected start time and a footballer-affected outfield, and reduced to 20 overs per side as a result of the former. 

Palm Tree batted first and put on a good total of 169, helped by 25 extras, which seemed a good total but not out of reach. Ahmed's leg spin going at four an over at Wray in a T20 was particularly noteworthy as he continually left some good batsmen swinging at air. 

Unfortunately, Palm Tree seemed to have one of PBD's special marinated balls for their innings. Stabbins from one end bowled near-unplayable booming outswing whilst Arif from the other gained significant movement off the seam. They combined to reduce PCC to 13-3, including your correspondent toe-ending three wild swings at a ball moving away from me in a manner compliant with social distancing regulations. Good cameos came from Kaleem (18) and Ed (28) whilst Amandeep (18) played the role of the anchor which sits on the seafloor in place whilst the broken chain floats away still attached to a rapidly disppearing ship.
