Pacific's second midweek fixture of the first was completed in better conditions than the first, despite dire portents of rain from the BBC Weather app throughout the game. Having got started late, we agreed an even-more-shortened format of 12 overs a side and chose to bat with only six players in attendance (Riz joined us later, fresh from his son's parents' evening).

Our innings highlight was an excellently put together 30* from John Deighan, who was rather harshly told he had to retire at 30 due to the foreshortened innings, and he received good support from Captain Korgy, once more forced to bring himself in from the cold (ninth man duties) due to late drop outs. Our run rate was reasonable, although failing to get Riz a few overs in the middle after he arrived probably cost us plenty of runs.

In the field, we had a pair of run outs to show for our efforts - and both direct hits, the first from Deighan again - his close range effort was complicated by the fact that he'd been running around the approximately 1/3 of the pitch he'd been asked to cover without any respite for the previous ten minutes. The second came the very next ball, Jaime Hargreaves pinging one in from the deep and hitting the stumps from side on, as much to his surprise as to the batsmans. 

That unfortunately was the end of our wicket taking though, and the All-Stars coated home with just under three overs to spare.
