This win repeated the triumph from
97 as well as gaining some revenge for their MCC Indoor School League Cup
Final defeat the previous November.
Lord Gnome again winning the toss batted 1st in this all day game but man of
the match John Baglivi made the 1st telling contribution with 3 wickets for
6 runs from his 1st 6 over spell.Gnome rallied around Matt Cannon who was
their top scorer but local Leon Yates with his off spin & seamer Adrian
Palmer pegged the scoring back.
After the declaration, Pacific¹s openers
peter Hollman & John Baglivi negotiated a tricky 1/2 hour before tea. The
1st wicket fell at 75 with Hollman bowled by Bracken but an ideal platform
had been built. 4 wickets did fall for 23 runs as 121-1 became 144-5 but
Leon Yates with typical Aussie cool saw the away side home with 9 overs to
spare.
