A nice evening proved the naysayers wrong after rain all day. However, the Ducks powered to the top of the table over a seven-man Pacific team. Their 217 for 2 - feasting in particular off our spinners whose combined figures of 8-0-141-0 are best forgotten. It was never really chaseable but Toby Chasseaud, with a maiden midweek fifty, and debutant Ben's 38 helped us to a respectable 153/3. If only we'd had the full eight players.
