London Fields' Robin Friend played a high class innings guesting for N2 when he'd been signed up to guest for Pacific and almost won the game for them before underhitting a full toss to the midwicket boundary which Jon Webley calmly pocketed.
Until he set the innings alight, a win had seemed far away from N2 with their makeshift side but once Robin was out it was a certainty.
The spirit was high and the game fair and convivial which continued at the Hadley Hall Arms.
N2 captain Shai said: " I'm glad we got a game in as I felt it would be a waste of what promised and turned out to be a wonderful day's cricket. My thanks go to Toby for all his efforts in trying to get the game on and providing three good players [Robin Friend, Jon Hardisty and Martin Langridge]. Hopefully next year I'll be in a better situation to provide a team if I can stop my players having holidays. Thanks again for a good match."
