A green pitch on an overcast showery day was a bowler's delight. Our maiden victory in the league was secured as South Loughton were skittled for 41. Webley was brilliant - the ball swung and then moved off the pitch. This reporter thought his effort of a few years ago of 5-0 was unsurpassable but here Webbo got 4.3-4-0-6. This inspired a collapse from a sedate 39-2 to 41 all out. The fielding was very good including two slip catches for Richards - Haroon was unlucky two very sharp chances were shelled off his bowling.
A nice tea was gradually consumed.
The chase by a revised order was shambolic with the noble exception of Richards. The middle order was a horror show of big swings or crossed batted shots on a pitch with no bounce but in the end that did not really matter. A comfortable victory.
