A pretty comprehensive defeat by about 45 runs. Too many extras were conceded by an attack whose approach was described, only a little unfairly, as Bodyline by the oppo. The reply started poorly as skipper Rees was bowled first ball by a lovely away swinger. Lahrie made it in to the twenties and McDonnell blasted 43 in usual style but an innings to forget generally.
