Friendly fixture

Things went from bad to worse on Thursday with another close loss against Oakhill.

Pacific 162-7, T Mileham 51no, D Murray 43
Oakhill 163-9, L Davies 61, D Roberts 3-36

On a slow pitch, which had been underwater at the weekend, Pacific scored a creditable 162-7, spurred by a whirlwind 51 not out from Tim Mileham, again relishing his middle order big hitting role. Supported by 43 from David Murray which held the innings together, they put on 73 to give the score respectibility.

In return, Oakhill always lost wickets with some fine fielding from Pacific, the highlight being a champagne moment catch taken by Ben Hardisty, diving backwards in the cover to hold on to a blinder.

Lee Davies scored a rapid 61 for Oakhill, and Darryl Roberts took 3-36. With one wicket left, Oakhill needed 5 runs, but scraped home to give Pacific another loss, and a feeling that their tour record of 0-2 was a bit harsh.

But credit where credit's due, as Oakhill skipper Gerry Watts played his part in a very enjoyable game.
