No Hampstead bowler picked up a wicket as Pacific's batting incurred 4 run outs in the pursuit of 2005/6 UK finalists Hampstead's total of 133-4. But with 4 run outs, only Tim Vanderpump's 37* kept Pacific iin the match. There were however mittigating circumstances......

Although a mammoth 134 was set to win, it was only due to the class in batting rather than the crudities of bad bowling. Duthie perhaps should have been invited more into the punishment of proceedings having the respectable figures of 2-0-16-1.

Pacific took the task up and set about the run-chase with the usual professionalism: that is not allowing the bowlers to get a wicket. However, the run out column totted up to 4 which indicated that perhaps certain suicidal singles should not have been taken. Vanderpump was the only accomplished innings, however even that was in a lost cause due to the rapidly increasing over-rate needed. His 37 coming off only 29, and proof that if other players had hung around, Pacific might have got closer to the target. Still the task in hand was a too high one at that."
