Iain Heaphy was the scourge of Pacific & MOTM with figs or 4-0-22-2. His accurate flighted off breaks stopped the runaway 200+ run Pacific target in its' tracks. At 100-0 off 8 overs 114-0 became 116-2 as Sean Feany also chipped in with 2 wickets from the southern end. Bowling into the wind Jon Hardisty's steady innings came to an abrupt end on 31 & Gavin Wainwright's until then accomplished knock also ended when the wind held up his attempted lng on boundary clearance & was caught be Monaghan.
Sammy Purcell did build on Jon Webley's retired 50 & a total of 160 was still considered emminently defendable by all.
However, Allan (50*) & Feany (52*) were able to settle in against some tardy opening bowling & the greater bowling talent of Webley, Chandler & Korgaonkar were unable to stymie R&C's imposing batting. 2 late dismissals did nothing but delay the inevitable as The Rose got home with 11 balls to spare.
