The mighty Pacific CC faced their next early season test against Rising Globetrotters on a typical April Saturday at Wray Crescent. Batting first, the Globetrotters faced an typically ingenuitive tactic of Pacific, letting our wicket keeper, Zafar, open the bowling, who was ably partnered by Saad. After a steady start & a few wickets lost, their opener reached 50 before snicking off Zafar in true wicketkeeper to wicketkeeper bowling. RG reached drinks at 18 overs at 120 odd.
Drinks were followed by some tight bowling by Prasham & Jack Mendel, putting the pressure on the batsmen. After a few costly overs & dropped catches in the mid-20s, el capitan Tim came on take a tidy four-fer & bowling RG out for 234 in the last over.
Having received direct instructions to not be 40 off ten overs, opening batsmen Harry & Dan lead the charge scoring 39 off the first 9 overs. A brief acceleration ensued before the opening partnership was broken for 62, bringing Rowan & Murtaza to the crease. Rowan proceeded to build an innings before endangering all children/cars/schools in the local area with some vicious sixes. Well assisted by Jack & Zafar in the later overs, Pacific made it home with a few overs to spare with great comfort. Rowan top scored for a mighty 85, earning Pacific a deserved win. A fantastic day of cricket all round.
