Ten-man Pacific fell agonisingly short in the run chase - losing the first game of the season by just one run at LESSA. Having been at one stage on 172 for 3 and then 195 for 5 - the final collapse of the last 4 wickets for only 6 runs proved fatal in this keenly contested match. Newcomers Martin Cowling, Azhar Mushtaq and Shaun Cochrane all made major contributions - giving the club encouragement from this disappointing opening result.
