On a pleasantly warm day PCC assembled for the final episode in the trilogy against Millwall Stars that the screen writer hadn't had much notice to start on. It would be remiss not to be very grateful for them stepping in at the 11th hour.
PCC won the toss and a steady start with Toby and Luke easing into their work. However Toby would loft a catch to point and it has to be said the game was gone in 60 seconds. Well almost... Players came and went with alarming regularity with JD and Jon Thornton being bowled with quality yorkers. Yet there were some loose dismissals too and suddenly it was looking towards a 70 all out total. Step forward Rambo who combined judicious defence with some lusty hitting and the pyrrhic total of 100 was in sight. Rambo was then a little too adventurous and succumbed leaving the tail to scramble together what they could. A surprising last man cameo between Garrett and Korgaonkar was even more remarkable for it's vibrant running between the wickets. It was only extinguished 2nd last ball with a sharp caught and bowled dismissing Korgaonkar.
There really isn't much to say about the reply. The oppo came out and blasted their way quickly to the meagre target. A little bit of respectability was gained with three quick wickets, but Korgaonkar wanting to get to the WB Yeates dispensed with his usual half trackers and full bungers and the predictability of the line and length granted him his wish and they got home very quickly ......
