The first match of the midweek season was also our opposition’s inaugural fixture, and the Dophins were clearly very comfortable with the conditions: after a delayed start following a torrential downpour, it then rained consistently through the first innings and was cold and dark throughout. Not glorious conditions for a game of cricket, but we got one in just about.

Opposition look like they'll do pretty well this season, although it wasn't quite as big a mismatch as the final result. Conditions for fielding were miserable, especially as we began the match with six, and by the time our innings rolled around the ball was too sodden to hit really.
