Club founder Pete Hollman tells us that the 1980s Pacific veterans drew this match. Hopefully he might write match report here.
Unfortunately I only arrived in time to see the final over & Adrian Duthie gamely hanging in. It was a hugely successful & enjoyable day with notable stats award going to Tony Summerbell who finally made his 100th appearance & winning the record for the biggest gap between matches. All this & falling flat on his face on landing when bowling his 1st delivery. Including his blow on the toe when batting & Adroan pulling a muscle I cannot recall where, everyone else survived & the defibrillators packed away until next Summer when the exercise will be attempted again but on a Sunday. I may be even tempted to make it myself. Cheers Pete.
Here’s what youngest vet Ian Lay said about it “Hi all,
Just wanted to say what a great day it was on Saturday. Lovely to see so many former Pacific players playing and turning up to support us. I think we can say it was a fun game and and we al contributed to the Veterans being undefeated in 2018. A big thanks to Crossbats for hosting the game. They were great as always.
Looking forward to doing this again next year.
Winter well. Folks.
Ian.
