The team were on their way to the ground only to hear that North Midd had cancelled the match due to the heavy rain on Saturday and Sunday morning. It was probably the only decision to make given the soggy circumstances but it was frustrating given that the sun then came out. At Lord's the start of the fourth day's play of the third Test against Sri Lanka was delayed until about 1.30pm.
