A day when cricket was truly the winner. All the pessimists who had predicted doom after snow during the week were proved wrong. A sunny if bracing day saw the Juniors X defeat the Senior X. The Seniors were inserted and limited to 175 off 40, Giaco rotating his bowlers and his field in a fine McCullumesque way. Tom and Nuggsy hit contrasting fifties to steer the Juniors most of the way home with a second wicket partnership of 120 despite the distraction of a local drunk pitch invader and fine aggressive bowling by Lucius and Riz.
