Pacific started poorly as Faisal was run out (after a pre-match talk from the skip on avoiding a repeat of last week's run out). Hess was then yorked second ball and Roy caught on the point boundary. Tempany rebuilt the innings with support from Rees in typically boundary laden style. Rees lobbed a catch and Tempany retired. New father Henry tried to keep the scoreboard ticking over but Gleadow failed in repeated attempts to hit out or get out. Eventually Gleadow was bowled allowing Tempany back in to smash 16 off the last over.

The target set did not look big enough. However, Faisal bowled with usual hostility and thoroughly deserved his two wickets. This enabled Pacific to remain in the game till the last over. Four dropped catches (one very tough to Tempany at deep mid-on, Hess missed a lobbed caught and bowled chance, two to Henry at deep-wicket although he recovered from one for the run out)were one of the differences between the sides. The other was a poor decision not to give Mahmood caught behind off Gleadow in the penulitimate over that led to some heated words.
