Captain Gleadow reports "Won the toss and opted to bat on a hot day. Jon was bowled by one that kept low for 11. Darren made a quick 28 and extras made 32 but no one else got to double figures as struggled to 98.

Squirrels started well and looked on course for 10 wicket victory before Smith pegged them back with 3-13 from 8 overs in a beautiful spell of bowling. Gleadow picked up two wickets before the end.

Batting failure was primarily to blame but some dodgy umpiring denied Smith more wickets and catched were shelled (Holliday, Webley, Tempany). Smith bowled superbly, Lay and Gleadow were solid but the change bowling was not tight enough. The skip probably rotated the bowling too much."
