Pacific stumbled out of the Middlesex Vase for the second year running - losing a match that they might easily have won. Ruislip were indebted to Ingram who produced a magnificent all-round performance - scoring 66 opening the batting and then reeling off 6 consequitive maidens with the new ball - finishing with 2 for 10 from his 9 overs.
That Pacific came so close was a tribute to burly Aussie all-rounder Kurt Rademaker - who took 3 for 33 with the ball and then blasted 40 to bring in the run chase. There was also a noteworthy debut for Will Barass - who scored an unbeaten 27 and added 55 for the 8th wicket with Rademaker.
Pacific also performed well with the ball and in the field - with livewire Leon Yates and Aussie keeper Ed Blake leading the way. There were fine catches for veteran Peter Hollman, skipper Jim Davies and two for South African paceman Marcel Boonaert. But with five middle order batsmen getting into double figures - but failing to reach twenty - it was not to be quite enough. So on to the Plate for us!
Ruislip 172 for 7 from 45 overs (Ingram 66, O'Driscoll 28*, Rademaker 3-33, John Baglivi 1-21 from 9 overs)
Pacific 162 for 8 from 45 overs (Rademaker 40, Barass 27*, Ingram 9-6-10-2)
