Pacific were one man short - and a determined and skillful effort with the bat from Caledonian Conquerers took full advantage - reaching their 146 run winning target in the final over. Earlier Pacific's innings had got off to a flying start with openers Jim Davies (52) and Braden Grigg (31) leading the way - but a total of 145 was slightly disappointing from a position of 94 for 1 from 9 overs when Davies retired. The final over from Aquib proved vital - costing only two runs and claiming the last two wickets to catches in the deep - the good catching being a feature of the Callies fine effort in the field.
Burly Welsh allrounder Davies then seized the initiative with the ball - claiming two wickets in an over - but in the end it was not enough to make up for the missing Dougal DeKeller. Tariq (50*), Faraq (30*) and Wayne (23) shone with the bat for Callies - and they ran particularly well. Despite an excellent penultimate over from veteran seamer Darryl Roberts - costing just one run - Callies were left needing only 3 from the last over and won with four balls to spare.
Pacific 145 All Out from 15.4 overs (Jim Davies 52, Braden Grigg 31, Aquib 4-0-33-3)
Caledonian Conquerors 147 for 4 from 15.2 overs (Tariq 50*, Faraq 30*, Jim Davies 4-0-29-2, Darryl Roberts 4-0-36-1)
VII :- Rob Bastin*, Rob Allum, Darryl Roberts, Will Barras, Braden Grigg, Matt Holliday, Jim Davies. (Dougal DeKeller absent)
