Horlock is Wizard but French tune to Radio Smudge
Pacific v Eymet CC at Eymet Gendarmarie  Sun 24-Aug-2008 at 1pm
Won 3 wickets

An excellent innings from the home town keeper / opener / captain / secretary David Horlock who gave the tourists their sternest test in France to date in their stadium ground.

Both sides were grateful for the cover given as the heat of the sun was certainly something that had not been seen on the other side of La Manche.

Eymet struck with the 1st ball of the innings, Adrian Duthie, edging to the omnipotent Horlock & wickets continued to fall too regularly including Pacific mainstay & Club Captain Jon Webley who spooned to mid off.

As the wickets tumbled & the spectre of a 1st overseas defeat loomed, Captain of the day & latest thirtysomething, Oli Haill chomped on his nails until Kurt Rademaker was joined by James Smith. Together they put on an unbeaten 7th wicket partnership of 71 through sensible shot selection whilst enjoying the less taxing change bowling. Nevertheless 5 an over requirement was not a given & there were alarms with misjudged catches. As the opening bowlers returned, Smith & Radamaker did not let their captain down & the winning run was hit with 6 balls to spare.

XI from Peter Hollman, James Smith, Oli Haill, Matt Holiday, Kurt Rademaker, Shayne Rees, Rob Bastin, Steve Emmins, Matt Callender, Matt Patel, James Gleadow, Adrian Duthie & Jon Webley.
