Jon Webley made a magnificant 96 runs, spectacularly reversing Pacific's disastrous start. 0-2 after 2 balls with stand in openers Joe Bennett & Mattt Callender both gone for golden ducks, & then Rob Bastin going for zero too, leaving Pacific on 3-3. Carter having taking them all plus the 3 more wickets to fall too, but not before Kurt Rademaker (30) & Jon Webley (96) & Jai Rajaraman (56*) had taken Pacific up to 185-7 declared. S Carter then went to top score with 41 although Rademaker, Mundie, Roberts & Webley all picked up wikctes but it was not enough to prevent a draw. Allan judged himself rather harshly "I know that my captaining was pants at Caius - I just couldn't get my head round it in the field plus had quite a few unfamiliar players & was aware that their one bat was fresh off the back of a ton & could (just)have got the runs for them on his own. He got a shocker of an lbw decision to Shane M. bowling left arm over! Shane was the only one who appealed. Should have been more aggressive much earlier with fields."
XI:- Rob Bastin, Jim Davies, John Hill, Kurt Rademaker, Allan Roberts*, Joe Bennett, Shane Mundie, Jon Webley, Matt Callender, Jaikishan R. & James Smith Inaugral fixture against the Students of our some time Landlords.
