On a scorching June day (hottest of the year so far - 30+), Pacific lost the toss and were instructed to field.
With an outfield quicker than an ice-rink, it was likely to be a high scoring affair.
Pacific started well with some early quick wickets from Ali Safi and Simon Wedlock (despite some questionable loosners) and we had JMCC on the ropes with 4 down and barely 50 on the board.
However their highest run scorer (who was also hungover) steadied the ship and scored a well-earned 79.
Dropped catches, misfields and inconsistent line & length meant their total got close to 200, but the wickets did keep ticking over.
Ahmed, Manar, Jitin and Mohan bowled well enough to see of their wagging tail and JMCC finished on a reachable 228.
Pacific were lead out by Mutz and Ben OC and they started well, with only boundaries being scored off the bat for the best part of 6 overs. Much like the bowling, PCC lost wickets regularly, with too many getting in (a bit) and then cheaply losing them for poor shot selection from tepid bowling.
There were glimmers of hope with Rohan and Joe Deighan posting scores of 20+, however there was never enough batting depth to make this a score to chase once the top 5 had been removed.
JMCC won by 50 runs
