Mower Mower Mower How Do You Like It?
Pacific v Dulwich Lawnmower CC at Wray Crescent
Fri 07 Apr 2023 at 12:30pm
Won 5 wickets
Friendly fixture

The first game proper of the 2023 season and our 40th year as a club with no home! Just think about that for minute , 40 years , no home ground , no bar and no training facilities (Now you understand why we field like we do). A full season of over 70 games in 7 months lay ahead . Thanks to the only OG left from 1983 - Pete Hollman, for scheduling and organising this mammoth season that we have in prospect for arguably the greatest club in Islington! Having all hibernated over the winter making sure that we tended to our bodies , joints and vital organs, giving them good rest in readiness for real match practice rather than usual over netting of season past! This game was North Vs Souf London! The trendy Dulwich lawnmowers outfit all arrived and were raring to go! Winning the toss they decided to bat first. Now for the match report …. We battered them ! Twice! 62 to all out with Jahangir the pick of the bowlers 6 overs for 6 runs and 3 wickets . The biggest difference for me this year was the abundance of players who don’t know what hair loss is! This factor was strong and ultimately key to our resounding and clinical win! Rambo opened the batting for us and for once he got out , if I remember correctly his average last season was over 150. We lost a flurry of wickets and the pcc dressing room (park-bench) was all over the place …. . In the words of billy ocean , when the going gets tough , man’s gets going ! Enter Mutz who walked out a picture of confidence akin to the great IVA , alas he was fasting so no gum was being chewed but you get the picture ! Wickets kept on falling at the other end the overseas pro - Mohan , then the new signing Faisal and finally Jahangir all fell chasing this small total. Clearly a demonstration that pacificos do not care about averages ! Mutz remained steadfast and guided the pacific ship home . The finisher is back! The win was so resounding that the Pacifico’s felt they needed to really show the oppo what north London was about and we then trounced them again in the beer match beating them by nearly 100 runs again . Cricket and Pacific was the winner - Twice!

Surely some records broken here....
outstanding bowling figures from all six bowlers.  led superbly by Jahangir and Alex.

No boundaries conceded in the entire innings off the bat.

Made a meal of the chase but in the end Dulwich's lawn was well and truly mown, drawn and quartered.
