Remember remember the 1st of November
Pacific v Old Grammarians at Wray Crescent  Sat 01-Nov-2014 at 11am
Lost by 52 runs

Beautiful weather, scenic ground, large crowd (15 or so), a television crew filming, bratwurst and beer to round off the day - cricket was the winner.  A 25 over a-side, nine a-side contest was comfortably won by Old Grammarians.  Match hinged probably on a ropey stumping decision that saved Dyke second ball in the OG innings and then Sheldon holing out off Nuggsy.

Kieran "K Dog" Mullens writes:

So good to get the game on and make history on a glorious November afternoon. Standout moments for me include: Juliana Silva, Gaby Gaetano and Mike Hampton enjoying their first taste of cricket; Mike "Hamster" Hampton" mistakenly walking out to bat as he thought his name had been called out – three Pacific men in the middle! Greenland, Davis, Brown and Hussain bowling quality spells – Brown was on a hat-trick. Tony Tambyrajah's beguiling loop which brought him another wicket for the season, a quick bat and then a dash off to watch Alexis Sanchez score a fine brace for Arsenal at the Emirates. Lucky for some! Brian the supporter from Greenford staying on for extra bratwurst, telling me he was due to go to a 91st birthday party after the match. What a day. Brian and I agreed on one thing during a brat conversation. Cricket is one of the finest sports on earth. Really looking forward to 2015. Thinking of trying to get plenty of net sessions on. Thanks for a great season and see you soon."

Club founder Peter Hollman added: "Well done to everyone involved last Saturday. Everyone deserves credit and especially Kieran who really turned things around with his match managership."

Tony Tambyrajah said: "I think Kieran deserves a great vote of thanks for reviving the PCC spirit and games in the latter part of the season. The last game was a rare achievement in not only organising the sunny day as well as the collection of enthusiastic spectators, the lady players for the first time in PCC game not to mention the Bratwurst for the cricketing brats."

Tom Ireland said: "Fully agree – turned the season around to a memorable one, following that worrying dip in attendance mid-season. Nice one, K Dog!"

Here's the article that Toby wrote for the Guardian to mark the occasion of Pacific playing into November for the first time:
