Parkinson shakes up Priory Park
Pacific v Priory Park at Wray Crescent  Sat 15-May-2010 at 1pm
Won 3 wickets

A lovely May day saw Parkinson stun Priory Park with 108* off 52 balls to win the game. The returning Bastin lost the toss and Pacific were asked to field.

Opening bowlers Parkinson and Gleadow took some tap from the Priory openers although Gleadow was unlucky that a very firmly hit drive burst through Smith's hands at mid off. 1st change pair of Chasseaud and Webley took wickets and brought some control. Gleadow took catch of the season so far - running back from square leg to dive and catch as the ball looped out of the sun - and injured his knee in the process to give Webley his first wicket. Smith bowled a superb spell and for once had some reward with two return catches. Hopper got his first wickets for the club. Bastin made his three catches in the deep look very easy.

A good tea was followed by a slow start by Pacific in reply. Lahrie anchored the innings whilst Chasseaud was bowled by a beaut, Webley uncharacteristically hoiked across the line to mid on and Croft lobbed a no-ball (that wasn't as it was spinner bowling) catch to cover but ran whilst Parkinson did not and Croft was run out. 62/4 at drinks did not look good. Parkinson hit a series of boundaries - particularly off the spinner to race to 50 off 25 balls - including one six that cleared the pavilion. Bird and Hopper provided good support. The opposition started to put everyone on the boundary when Parkinson was on strike but he was still able to pierce the field and Holliday helped him to the finishing line.

Holliday Matt, Croft Vincent, Gleadow James, Mohamed Lahrie, Chasseaud Toby, Parkinson Sam, Hopper Stuart, Webley Jon, Smith James, Bastin Rob*, Dan Bird
